Trust me, your everyday meals will never be the same and your dear ones will love you even more for this endless healthy food game! Back in the good old `70s, people were using… mini-skewers for good looking appetizers. Now, everybody`s on the rush, so cuts big chunks of meat and veggies for huge barbecue skewers. I dare you to cut small pieces and use toothpicks, turning them into mini-skewers you could enjoy all year long, not just for the outside grill!

This is the way to put a little love into your weekday meals with your dear ones and it doesn`t mean you can`t enjoy mini-skewers if you`re alone! You can place the mini-skewers into an oven tray and bake them while you spend quality time with family and friends, you can also use a skillet on your stove, and of course, you could turn them into the showstoppers of your next barbecue party, outside, when the weather is fine.

These from my pictures are made from scratch, with chicken meat, red bell peppers and cherry tomatoes, but you can use any meat and veggies you like. You could add some haloumi cheese because it doesn`t melt on high temperatures. Speaking of cheese, do you know how does a cheese say hallo? Haloumi! I also love to use small chunks of beef meat with button mushrooms and haloumi, brushed with a touch of Dijon mustard. Fat pork or turkey meat works great with, onion and red bell peppers, but also with some eggplant slices or zucchini!

Trust me, your kids and friends will love you for adding a touch of magic to your meals, especially if you place small balls with ingredients, so everyone could make their own mini-skewers with their favorite meat and veggies. You could turn a boring and sometimes exhausting kitchen activity into something funny for your kids, family and friends! You could play like that with little salumi or sausages, cucumber and tomatoes slices for mini-skewers appetizers, or different cubes of cheese with olives and tomatoes. Sometimes, when kids need some snacks, you could surprise them leaving some salty mini-skewers or even sweet ones, with different types of fruits, banana, kiwi and mango slices, or apple, pear and grapes!
