A winter nightmare of the sea
The sea feels lonely in the wintertime. No kids are playing on her shores. The sun is hiding behind thick black clouds and she can’t see him. Now, just the blizzard plays with icy snow flakes. Even the seagulls, her flying friends, forgot her. They moved in town, and she can only hear their laughing voices, but she can’t see them flying around.
One night she sent the wind to whisper her call all over the town, hoping that people will come to see her, but she had no luck with it. Next morning, she woke up with her waves warmed by a shy smiling sun and some young seagulls landed on her waves, floating happy.
“Oh, you’ll never believe what a horrible nightmare I had”, whispers the sea. “I was so lonely and afraid that I’ll be left alone, forever!”
“You, silly sea, I am always with you, even when you can’t see me, or feel my heat”, laughs the sun. “You only have to remember this! I will never leave you, but when you feel down, try to think of your best times with me and you’ll feel a lot better!”, says the sun.
People come and go. You can’t expect them to come on your shores in the wintertime! You look so dark and angry when you fight with storms, and people are scared not to swallow them with your cold huge waves. Relax, everything will be just fine! In the summertime I will remind you this winter nightmare, so you could be nice and happy all the time! It’s a promise!”, laughs the sun, before makes room to the pale winter moon, distant and silent, so the sea could finally enjoy a good sleep.
